What do you want to do in the Reserve?

1. Casas de Millán

Casas de Millán

Set on the last spurs which make up Monfragüe, Casas de Millán is a good starting point or finishing point for a trip through the Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve. From here it is easy to venture into the dehesas which extend towards the Tagus River and the National Park.

A stroll through the streets of the village will lead us to discover the unusual 16th-century Church of San Nicolás de Bari with its fine main altarpiece and a centenary Hispanovisigothic Pilaster; the house with the coat of arms of the Marquis of Siete Iglesias, and the chapels in the vicinity.

From Casas de Millán several routes can be followed on foot or by bike, either in the nearby Sierra de Santa Maria to enjoy impressive views or through the dehesa to the Chapel of Our Lady of Tebas or the nearby village of Serradilla. The landscape surrounding this village holds enormous biodiversity and a unique environment for relaxing and discovering the Reserve.
