The distance of about 250 km from the capital to the heart of the Reserve can be covered comfortably in two and a half hours. From the M-40 we can take the A-5 motorway which will lead us directly to the easternmost area of the Reserve (Romangordo, Higuera de Albalat, Deleitosa, Jaraicejo, and Casas de Miravete) or take the EX-A1 in Navalmoral de la Mata to leave it at the exits of Toril or Malpartida de Plasencia on the way to the rest of the Reserve.
If we approach the Reserve from the south on the A-66, before reaching Plasencia we must take the EX-A1 towards Navalmoral de la Mata to take the first exit towards Villarreal de San Carlos or continue to reach the villages further to the east.
To get to the Reserve from the north on the A-66 we must pass Plasencia and then take the EX-A1 towards Navalmoral de la Mata. The first exit will take us to Villarreal de San Carlos or we can continue to reach the villages further to the east.
