Its natural richness is one of the main attractions of the Monfragüe Biosphere Reserve and this is borne out by the impressive trees which can be found in its territory. These outstanding trees are examples which deserve to be emphasised and protected, as they can be considered unique because of their biometric characteristics or peculiarities and their cultural and historical interest. In the territory of the Reserve we can visit three:

Reasons for discovering it

They are the oldest living things of the Reserve. Both animals and humans have been passing in their shade for centuries and they still survive to remind us that taking care of nature and ecosystems is a duty which looks to the future.

When?

Cork oaks look lovely in autumn with their branches loaded with acorns, although they can be visited at any time of the year. As the hackberry loses its leaves in winter, it is best to visit it in spring, summer, of early autumn.
